You've put your finger on one of the elusive aspects of what bothers me about our country. We are greedy. Not every individual, obviously, but as a nation we are obnoxiously self-absorbed and entitled, and we teach our children to see those qualities as virtues.

Belize sounds marvelous. I'd love to hear more about your observations of the place and the insights you discover there.
