Wine (alcohol in general) has been a part of human culture for nearly as long as agriculture. I don't think it's a matter of marketing--the demand is baked into our genes. And despite its dangers, I'm inclined to see it as a good thing.

I agree, though, with your point, that any social pressure pushing us to be or do something that may not be the true expression of who we wish to become--that is a feminist issue. Feminism is the principle of resisting the constriction of socially defined gender roles. Kudos to you for pushing back.
