I wouldn't know from any bro code. I do know it's hard to call your friends out for saying (and thinking) things they shouldn't. Are women in their 30s and 40s any different, any harder on their friends' moral weaknesses?
Violence against women and children has gone unchallenged for centuries. Men (mostly men, sometimes assisted by women) have done it just because they can. What we have to challenge is the system that gives some people power over others. And the people who have enjoyed the way the system worked for them will have some soul-searching to do.
