Times have changed indeed. When there was little mobility, your options were your neighbors. When we had no mass media, no one fantasized about media stars.

Those days were also different in offering large, multi-generational families, and rarely were people starved for touch.

Were those days better? I don't think so, not in most ways. And there were people who lived sexless lives for various reasons, but they didn't have communities of fellow rejects to encourage them to blame women for wanting better options.

It sounds like you and your wife are happy together. I congratulate you both.
