This is my biggest gripe about the algorithm changes. I've built my following the honest way, and I know from comments that my readers like my stories and my style. But I'm always missing my favorite writers' new stuff, and by the time my regulars find and comment on mine, the algo has decided I'm not trending.

I personally think Medium oversold the "make money by writing" feature. I was drawn in 2 years ago by the promise of interesting stories to read, only later discovering how easy it was to upload my own writing. But in these days when everyone is looking for an easy side hustle, people are signing up for the wrong reason.
