There will always be fools who scoff at intellectuals, and there will always be intellectuals who smirk at those of lesser learning or lesser mental prowess. Both, I think, are unfortunate.

By all means embrace your intelligence and your creativity, and ignore the jibes of those who cannot comprehend the pleasures of the mind. But speak and write to communicate, not to flaunt your superior vocabulary.

True wisdom learns from everyone, no matter how dull or ignorant they seem.
