The Republican Party is infected with the delusion that its "rightness" endows it with the right to control all the levers of government, even if the majority of the population in their ignorance disagrees. That was the problem even before Trump, really ever since Newt Gingrich and Grover Norquist pushed the polarization of our politics to such extremes.

Now comes 45 with his ill-educated and disaffected hordes, and the delusion bears the fruit it sowed. If the AGs don't kowtow, they will reap the wrath of his base.

I would feel sorry for these once-distinguished individuals, who have no safe place to turn. Would, but I don't, as they have sold the honor that accompanied positions of public trust and now are trying to sell our democracy, just as Trump sold out his country to his Russian handler.
