The opposite of love is not hate, but indifference. When a partner doesn't care enough about your connection to fix problems, when he doesn't care if you sleep together or even if it's possible to talk, there's nothing left to fix.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. The divorce stats hide the size of the problem in modern marriage, because the ones who stay together are not necessarily less unhappy than the ones who get divorced.
