That is good news, James. Let's hope that trend continues. If I recall correctly, that has been the trend statistically for some time, but I didn't know that benchmark had been reached.
Unfortunately, it's the right wing that has exercised its political muscle and still gets an outsized share of the publicity. And since those churches press their members to tithe--not to mention bilking the credulous with their televised medicine shows--they tend to be far better funded than the mainline churches. And, of course, far less scrupled regarding the legal niceties of what non-profit groups are legally allowed to do.
