Thanks, Peter. I found The Inimitable Jeeves on a free shelf 5 years ago and keep meaning to look for more of his books.
My favorite literary sleuths are Brother Cadfael, Lord Peter Wimsy, and Travis McGee, all eminently rereadable. Somehow I have missed out on Christie, other than Angela Lansbury's portrayals, but I'll pick up one of her titles next time I'm at McKay's.
ZATAOMM is a marvel. Lila was good, too, but not moving to me personally the way the first one was.
If you haven't read Robertson Davies, you owe it to yourself to do so. Crisp language, compelling characters, wonderfully conceived plots (the toughest element of fiction writing IMO), and a well-mannered Canadian voice that chases all the ugliness of everything away. Most people would say start with Fifth Business.
