You oversimplify both evolution and creationism, and you betray your personal bias by presenting them as if they were in some sense equivalent.
Evolutionary theory is established science, the rock upon which all of modern biology and medicine are built. It is as central to our understanding of the world as atomic theory, probability theory, the theory of relativity, and the theory of universal gravitation.
Creationism is a ludicrously literalistic reading of the book of Genesis. It has been rejected by all serious Christian theologians, most eloquently by Karl Barth, who said "I take the Bible far too seriously to take it literally."
Yes, many famous Western scientists were Christians. But not fundamentalists. That peculiar corruption of the Christian religion, with its rejection of both science and theology, is of relatively recent origin.
