I would respectfully suggest that your imagination may be overtaxed by the current proliferation of lethal possibilities in the social world. While fully cognizant of those, and despite being somewhat past my prime, I have not the slightest difficulty imagining the pleasure and the comfort to be found in sharing my bed with a warm and friendly person.

The “need” is transitory, to be sure, and easily relieved. But the existential loneliness is real.
