Thank you for writing about this, Jessica. I'm sure you'll get a lot of pushback, some from people who are uncomfortable with the idea of women being predators (as if rape required penetration), more from people who will accuse you of blaming women or trivializing the issue of male sexual violence toward women.
But your point is an important one: Everybody needs to be protected from unwanted sexual advances. And if we want men to handle their sexual urges with integrity, then we need to treat their sexuality as something deserving of respect.
As long as we make excuses for our friends who cross the line, and as long as we make jokes about their victims, no one--male or female--will be safe.
