You may have misunderstood my thesis, however. My problem is not so much with what Christianity teaches as with the church as a sociopolitical entity.

Christian (or Hindu or Pagan or Islamic or nearly any other religion's) doctrine, interpreted through the lens of metaphor and given proper context, can be a force for good.
