Thank you, Ell. Yes, Vonnegut was a big influence for me as well, both as a philosopher and as a writer.

People do need to take responsibility for human culture's sins against humanity. There are also natural disasters (including those provoked by human stupidity), and various fundamentalist preachers are fond of explaining God's purpose in causing them.
