Thank you, CA. Your essays are always helpful to those of us who seek to understand a complex subject that we were not even told existed when we were growing up. I still have much to learn about the world experienced by gay, lesbian, and bisexual people. But trans and intersex are even more confusing to an old cis-het male like me, and I don't want to make anyone's life more difficult by my ignorance.

If you want to reach more readers, I would encourage you to use a wider range of tags when you publish. This article relates to sexuality, prejudice, society, and medicine, for instance, and needs to be seen by everyone interested in those subjects.
