Sadly, editors for many presses are not the eagle-eyed perfectionists they once were, and the average book on the shelf of B&N is likely to contain a largish handful of usage and spelling bloopers and no telling how many punctuation problems.
Still, clean text matters, even though the rules are changing "literally" every minute.
