Social media seems like a good idea. My students say they couldn't live without it, but they nearly all say it distracts them, makes them less productive, interferes with in-person relationships (remember those?), and often makes them miserable.

I have a FB page, but I haven't visited it in months, only keep it because you have to have one to see other pages. Years back I was active on FB (different page, probably still exists) but realized it was an infinite time sink that detracted from my quality of life.

Now, as a writer, I know I need a Twitter presence, but I'm really fighting it. Medium will have to do until I have more time.
