Republicans nationally have been making hay of a platform of "truth no longer matters." And Texas Republicans have pushed even that envelope to the tearing point.

I suspect SCOTUS will block the law before long. I hope Texas voters--enough of them, anyway--will take this for a wake-up call. Voter suppression has a way of backfiring.

But the new gun law? No, that won't cost them votes. Not in the Lone Star State.
