Oh my, Miyah. Now you're talking my language. I got back from school too late to do a proper planting, but I set up a container garden by my front stoop and soon will have cukes, eggplant, 3 kinds of peppers, and 5 varieties of tomatoes, with broccoli and watermelons probably by late September. And basil, sweet and Thai, already in profusion.
I didn't grow up gardening. That love emerged in my late 50s. But I remember sweet corn from my grandpa's garden, picked and shucked after the water was put on to boil, on the stalk to on the plate in 15 minutes.
As for us, we all are weeds. We find a way.
