Much will be possible when women (and other genders) are equally empowered and no one is dependent on another for their life's needs. If women now could leave controlling or abusive husbands without risking poverty, men would have to work a lot harder to give them reasons to stay married.

I believe our future is in polyamory. It's just inherently more stable with more adults to share the various burdens and provide all with emotional support.
