Marriage as currently conceived and practiced is such a shitty deal for women, I hope my daughter stays out of the trap. I would enjoy a grandchild, but only if she decides she wants to be a mom, and she can do that--when she has time, maybe after grad school--without obligating herself to some man who can't keep up with her or hold her interest.

Yeah, most men do need to up their game. And our culture needs to figure out how to socialize them more effectively, so they'll be prepared to be real partners in real partnerships. A Y-chromosome shouldn't be a crippling handicap.
