It definitely happens in both directions, though the general discounting of women in every other arena makes it somewhat more prevalent (my impression — no statistics to support it) among men.

Sex/gender equality is not likely to happen while men run so much of the world and control so much of the financial capital. And that’s a loss to all of us.

Life’s way too lonely anyway, and I fear that Tinder culture (which promotes sex with relative strangers) will only make it more so.
