In a sex-positive culture--which someday we will have, though I doubt I'll live to see it--this will be the attitude of every person of whatever sex or gender.

I feel the same regarding love. Not everyone I've loved has turned out to be equally deserving or equally willing and able to return my love, but I refuse to regret loving when and where and whom, because every experience of loving makes us better lovers.
