I'm so sorry your have had such a difficult time. My experience of interracial marriage was not nearly so difficult. We faced some prejudice, of course, but openly racist behavior was not condoned in most parts of American society, even in North Carolina in the late 1970s and 80s, so we shrugged off the few hate stares as aberrations. And I'm glad to say, our children never had unusual difficulty making friends or being accepted by peers of whatever color.
Around my present home in Arkansas, even in the time of Trump, I don't see eyebrows raised at couples of color and gender combinations that would have shocked my parents' generation. I'm sure it isn't like that everywhere in the US. Racism definitely has not disappeared, but it's more subtle and institutional than social.
I wonder how much of your difficulty is related to your locality. I hear many wonderful things about Switzerland, but I also hear it is an extremely conservative place, one where it is difficult for women to have both families and professional careers.
