I went ahead and added it, but only retrofitted a few of my still-popular old stories. I get $6.03/mo from referred members, and maybe that will grow, but I'm not stressing about it. If my writing draws the occasional reader to sign up, I don't feel embarrassed to take a share of their fees, and it's not like I'm writing advertising copy, so I don't see the moral issue. I need the money.

I just wish Medium would fix the algorithms like they used to be. It's so much harder to get viral anymore. I'm investigating other platforms where I might be able to reuse content I wrote for this one. Someone told me about Simily, a new one that for now is paying $0.02/view.
