I think I remember reading some research on job satisfaction and related topics years ago, and the lesson was quite similar. What made people happier in their job--assuming the pay was adequate for their needs--was not higher wages but more respect from management. And a bigger house meant far less to quality of life than a shorter commute to work.

The millenials and Gens X-Y-Z are going to teach us all a lot about living in a world that changes at a frightening pace.
