I suspect they're still around, probably in greater number than ever. But that's the trouble with the firehose stream of info and commentary being published on more channels than one person can keep up with even if he has nothing else to do.

Paracelsus could claim to possess all the world's wisdom, as he had read every book ever published (at least in the Western Hemisphere). Simpler times.

Will the dilettantes get found out? Perhaps, over time, but our minds remember messages--especially the cleverly phrased ones--long after we've forgotten where they came from. We need trustworthy and authoritative debunkers who can save us from the disinformation industry first, never mind the educated fools.
