I normally object to numbered lists, but your choice to use that format made excellent sense to me, once I saw what you were doing with it. The repeated and contrasting lines and themes guide the reader's mind into so many different corners, eventually demonstrating the truth you're manifesting. There are as many reasons--some good and healthy, others not so much--as there are for choosing any other "type" of partner.

Yes, of course women do choose nice guys. Sometimes deliberately, because "nice" is a big part of what they're looking for, but often because the man with whom she finds the chemistry just happens to be the nice one. The whiners like A.Z. need to understand that, while niceness is desirable, it's not enough by itself.
