I can't speak for everyone, Leigh, but I'm not going anywhere. I remember the trauma that was 2016 all too vividly, and will shout "Eternal vigilance!" like Mad-Eye Moody at anyone who will listen.

As a writer and a writing teacher, I have the opportunity to remind people that these struggles matter, and that the voices that were silenced for so many generations are the voices that we need to hear right now. Also to encourage people to challenge their assumptions and check their privilege.

As far as I'm concerned, you and your generation are the new face of America. We need your energy, your vision, and your leadership, and you deserve all our support.
