I am in full agreement with you. The Republicans are at war with democracy, because they have convinced themselves (and their feckless base) that they alone have the right to govern.

It puzzles me, though, that in your brief bio you say progressives are endangering democracy and peaceful rule of law. That statement is neither fair nor accurate.
