I agree. Writers may choose to take strong positions, but anyone who will not acknowledge that they might be wrong--about anything--gives up their right to participate in the ongoing conversation over issues.

She was the first to comment on this story, informing me that she had not read it, that I should not have called her a blogger, and that none of the writers I listed were actually popular.
