You have, of course, condensed a lot of complex history into a handful of soundbites, and possibly misunderstood where Descartes and the Rationalist school of philosophy was getting at, but I like where you end up. These are indeed some of the most important issues needing to be addressed.
The capitalistic model, in which a human life is valued according to that person's usefulness to someone richer, needs to be retired. No one should need to compete for the necessities of life. Let's start from there.
