Heinlein spelled it TAANSTAAFL--There ain't no such thing as a free lunch. But we Americans in our worship of individualism, pretend we can ignore basic duties to the community and yet still have a community.

Try to tell these yahoos that they have an obligation to educate themselves, uphold standards in their work, and deal honestly with their neighbors. Try to tell them they have a duty to society to better themselves, to overcome their ignorance and prejudice and superstition.

Their idea of investing for the future is buying lotto tickets.

The pandemic of stupidity is no less deadly than the one I call COVID-45. Those who will not even try to fight against both plagues should all be placed in quarantine. Together.
