"Got to be a joker he just do what he please."

No question about it, Ann, you cool, way cooler than the in-crowd bullies who may not even realize how they're making life miserable for others.

After my 20-year HS reunion, I had a 1-1 conversation with one of the uber-popular kids from those days, someone I'd never really tried to talk to then because I frankly didn't trust anyone that popular, even though she herself had never been anything but nice. She told me about the other side of popularity, how you never knew where it came from, or why you had it and others didn't. But you knew you liked it, and you lived in fear, never knowing what might happen that would make it go away.

All that said, it's easier to find your DGAFs when you're past the many burdens of youth and able to appreciate the freedom to just be yourself, because as Oscar Wilde said, "Everybody else is taken."
