Excellent writing, Kate, and about a terribly important topic.

I suspect the problem will continue getting worse until we learn to teach our sons the same emotional skills we teach our daughters. Boys grow up unprepared to be real partners in relationships or in parenting, and they bully and belittle their women and neglect their children to cover for their cluelessness. (I cover some of this in my recent article, "Why do Men Pretend to be More Rational Than Women?")

I do see a lot of men now bucking that trend and embracing greater androgyny. So maybe there's some hope on the horizon. But it's gonna take a while.
