Despite his populist veneer, 45 never was--or wanted to be--one of us. The virtues that define the best in ordinary Americans all fall into the category of what he considers weaknesses: humility, compassion, sacrifice, loyalty, patience, honesty, hard work, courtesy, and self-restraint.

Jim Carrey was lovable in The Truman Show because he didn't know he was the star, and when he found out, all he wanted was to quit. Trump's the opposite--he thinks that's how life OUGHT to work, with everyone around him being his supporting cast.
