Are you perchance a poet? Obviously you are a writer, but poets in particular tend to be word collectors.

Another commenter has already mentioned that metonym bears a strong resemblance to the poetic device called synecdoche. And I'd heard tmesis (a term completely new to me, like the majority of these) referred to as an infix, being in between a prefix and a suffix.
