I confess to mixed emotions as I read the stories by so many free souls here extolling the delights of casual hookups. Perhaps some people (maybe even most) can enjoy the pure carnality of sex with strangers. Perhaps that’s simply part of being young.

But my sexual anatomy is so wired into all the rest of who I am, that I can’t see sharing it with anyone, no matter how attractive or how willing, without taking time to know the person I’m becoming one with. My whole person needs to give and get consent, and that’s a conversation that just can’t be rushed.
