An excellent reflection on a deeply human quandary. A little bit of schadenfreude can be sweet and satisfying, but as a steady diet it sickens the soul.

I am furious with the COVID deniers, anti-vaxxers, and anti-maskers, because it isn't just themselves they're killing. By keeping the virus circulating, they're giving it more opportunities to mutate, and at some point a new strain may appear that the current mRNA vaccines can't prevent, putting us back to ground zero.

I would like to see those people isolated from the rest of us, blocked from traveling, attending public gatherings, and eating out. I want to see them inconvenienced for their insistence on the right to endanger all of us. But they are human, even if their actions are despicable, and I don't rejoice to see them dying.
