Ah, brings back memories. . .

For another perspective, read Beth Anne Fennelly's book of micro-memoirs, "Heating and Cooling." One that sticks in my mind, though I can't quote it precisely, is something like "There comes a time in nearly every child's life when they realize that, when parents go into the bedroom in the middle of the day and close the door, they probably aren't talking about income taxes."
