Agreed. Plus they have their own perspectives to offer, not only as unique individuals but also specifically as female individuals with a kind of experience in the world that males don’t have. Friends enrich our lives with their perspectives, and a diverse social circle (different ages, backgrounds, genders, etc.) give us access to a much larger world than if we only bond with people just like us.
