A beautiful story, and you've told it well.

Two points of confusion. First, is Sasha (mentioned in 6th paragraph) the same person as Raba? And second, is she lesbian or bisexual? I first got the impression she was only into women, which was why you had no chance to be her partner.

Anyway, this kind of story is exactly why I advocate for people dating friends instead of strangers. You have a baseline of honesty already established--instead of a baseline of impression management--and you are more likely to consider someone you might not have believed to be "your type."
